Richard - Club President

Hi, I’m Richard Lancaster, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to the club for electing me as your new Club President.

Having been part of ECB for the past 37 years, both as a player and coach, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to contribute to our club's growth. I’ve coached junior and senior teams for 25 years and was honored to receive life membership in 2012. It’s truly a privilege to serve this amazing community, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.

Over the next two years, my goal is to continue the outstanding work done by past and present committee members and to provide strong support for all our players, from U5s to the Premier Men’s team.

One area I’m particularly passionate about is growing our U15/17 girls’ teams. These athletes are the future of ECB women’s softball, and I’m committed to making this area even stronger. Equally important is developing our U13 to U19 boys’ teams to ensure they have the skills and support needed to move through the grades and into our Premier/Reserve teams in the future. With Club Captain Bron and Junior Club Captain Tracey in leadership roles, I’m confident we can achieve these goals together.

Something that’s close to my heart is enhancing the family-friendly environment we’ve always had at ECB. I’d love to see more of our junior players attending senior games—especially Premier and Reserve matches—so they can watch our top players in action. Likewise, I’d love to see our senior players attending junior games, offering support, advice, and encouragement, making our young athletes feel like true professionals. After all, our kids are the future of our club.

So, when you see me down at the park this summer, please don’t hesitate to say hello. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and working together to make ECB the best it can be.

Warm regards,
Richard Lancaster
