Kia ora, Club Nationals Are Here! Next week is an exciting one for softball, with the Men’s Open Club Nationals being hosted right here at Harbour. At the same time, the Women’s Club Nationals will be taking place in Wellington, bringing together some of the best club teams from across the country. A special congratulations to Lucy Cadness-Aspinall, who has been picked up by the Roosters and Denise Swanepoel, who has been picked up by Bandits to play in the tournament in Wellington. What a fantastic opportunity — congratulations ladies We know you’ll do ECB proud and they are lucky to have you on their team. With a tournament of this size happening locally, it really is all hands on deck. We’re currently looking for volunteers to help with scoring on the live streams. This simply involves being at the game with your phone and using a webpage to update the score so people watching from home can follow along. Full details on how you can help are included below. IMPORTANT NOTICE: There will be no team trainings this week due to Club Nationals, training can resume Monday 16 March. The only games for the upcoming week Monday 09th -Sunday 15th March are for u11, u13, u15 boys, Div 1 Woman and Div 3 Men and Woman’s teams. No other grades have games scheduled. Normal games schedule to return for finals week on 16th March Please check the draw online |
🎥 ECB COMMUNITY SUPPORTING CLUB NATIONALS Our ECB community is getting behind North Harbour hosts of the Mens Open Club Nationals next week. Not only do we have our ECB Premier Men playing in the tournament, but we also have volunteers scoring, in the canteen, grounds crew and broadcasting team. It takes a village to make these tournaments run like clockwork, with lots of helpers behind the scenes. We need help to ensure that every diamond has a live stream available for viewers at home. We'll be setting up a system similar to what we use at ECB, and we’re looking for volunteers to help score games on the live stream. The role is simple — using a link on your phone, you’ll add balls, strikes, runners on base and the score so that people watching online can follow how the game is progressing in real time. The tournament runs Wednesday 11 March to Sunday 15 March, and we currently need help covering all the games played on Diamonds 2, 8, 9, and 10. If you’re available for a few games and would like to help, please get in touch with Michelle at uniforms@ecbsoftball.org.nz You’ll be shown exactly what to do and will have support available if needed. We’re looking for volunteers of all ages — if you have a phone and a passion for softball, we’d love your help! The schedule is included below, and we’re aiming to make sure every game has coverage. |

THE GREAT ECB EASTER EGG COLLECTION Easter is just around the corner, and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) needs our help to bring a little joy to families caring for sick loved ones. How can you help? Donate an Easter egg! A small gesture can make a big difference and help spread some Easter cheer to families who need it most. Donations can be dropped off: This weekend at the control room, or Saturday 21 March during finals weekend at the ECB gazebo while uniforms are being collected. All Easter egg donations will be gathered and personally delivered to RMH before Easter by our own Kylie Sims. Let’s help brighten Easter for these families. |

UNIFORM RETURN With only a few weeks left in the season, this is a friendly reminder that all uniforms must be returned on your final playing day. If you have already finished playing for the season, please return your uniform to your coach or manager as soon as possible. On your final game day, you’ll need to bring a change of clothes, as all club player tops and pants must be handed in after the game. Uniforms are one of the club’s largest expenses, so we really appreciate everyone returning them promptly. We get little enjoyment from chasing people for months to collect their uniforms. Uniforms are collected in worn condition and laundered by the club. If you have outgrown bats, gloves, cleats, or other softball gear that you’d like to donate, we would gratefully accept these as well. They can be passed on to other players or teams who may need them. There will be a collection area available on the final playing day for any donated gear. Thank you everyone for helping us keep our equipment and uniforms organised for next season. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Michelle on uniforms@ecbsoftball.org.nz |
