Kia ora ECB whānau — Six Weeks to Go and Prizegiving Prep Is Underway

It’s great to be back into the season with just six weeks remaining. As we begin preparing for prizegiving, we want to get nominations underway early so nominees can be recognised and viewed in action during the final weeks of play.

🏆CLUB AWARD NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN 

Club Awards are our opportunity to recognise the people who make our club what it is.
They’re not just about on-field performance — they also celebrate the players, volunteers and personalities whose efforts, attitude and contribution make this club special.

At our prizegiving, we present three types of awards:

🏆 Team Awards (U11 and up) - Selected by team coaches
🏆 Club Awards (U5 – Seniors) - Nominated by YOU, our club members
🏆 Club Awards – Statistics Based (U13 – Seniors) - Determined by season statistics

Why your nomination matters

Some Club Awards rely entirely on member nominations. If no nominations are received, that award will not be presented — so please take a few minutes to recognise those who deserve acknowledgment.

You can nominate players, teams, managers, scorers and coaches across a range of categories, including:

• Most Promising
• Most Improved (players, teams and coaches/managers)
• Nathan’s Way Award
• Personality of the Year

Any club member can submit nominations, including parents of junior players. All nominations will be reviewed, and winners selected by the ECB Awards Committee.  We strongly encourage you to nominate as many people as you like, across multiple categories, to help ensure a diverse and representative group of nominees.

🏆EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - AWARDS COMMITTEE 

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from anyone who is passionate about prizegiving and club awards to join our Awards Committee.  

This role is open to non-committee members and involves supporting committee members who review award nominations and ensure awards are fairly and thoughtfully selected.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who:

• Spends time watching junior and/or senior games
• Has observed sportsmanship, effort and performance across a wide range of ECB players
• Wants to help ensure a well-rounded and balanced perspective when recognising outstanding contributions across the club
