The countdown is on — the regular season kicks off on 1 November, and we’re getting ready!
Over the weekend, our Division 3 Rangers, Cougars, and Pumas took part in the Ramon Tamati Memorial Tournament – Whangārei 2025, turning their fields into a sea of green. We’re so proud to have such amazing senior teams representing the club at tournaments and setting the tone for the season ahead. With regular competition just around the corner, there’s plenty happening across the club as we gear up for an exciting few months of softball. We have a few updates for everyone in this newsletter:

CLUB CAPTAINS MESSAGE:

📣 PITCHING & BATTING CLINIC - this weekend (book now don't miss out)
Don’t miss this opportunity to train with one of the best in the game – Daisuke Hiro (Instagram: @swingz_project). Daisuke works with professional cricketers, baseballers, and a wide range of elite softballers. These performance clinics are a great way to sharpen your skills during the off-season and prepare for the upcoming season.

We still have space in the pitching clinic so please register now, this is great for beginners to advanced, as you can always learn new techniques.

ROSEDALE PARK OPEN NEXT WEEK!
Team trainings start next week. We’re excited that Rosedale Park will officially open for training next week (from 20th October)! Coaches will be in touch soon to confirm your team’s training days and times. If you haven’t heard from your coach by Friday please reach out to your club captain. See training diamonds here

With team trainings moving to Rosedale Park, we will no longer be holding pre-season training sessions at Freyberg Park. If you need softball in your life this weekend, sign up for the pitching clinic and/or come along to the park to cheer on our senior teams instead their game times as follows:

BRAD RONA CLASSIC - Expressions of Interest for Players
The Brad Rona Classic Fast45 Tournament will be held at Rosedale Park on Sunday 07 December 2025. Grades include:

Under 13 Girls and Under 13 Boys
Under 15 Girls and Under 13 Boys

Uniform Collection & Registration Day
📅 Date: Sunday, 19 October 2025
🕚 Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm
📍 Where: Freeman Field (Diamond 1), Rosedale Park
🚗 Best access & parking: Via Paul Matthews Drive entrance

To ensure you’re ready for the season starting 1 November, this is an essential day to collect your uniform, finalise your registration and avoid any delays in receiving your gear.

⏰ Scheduled Time Slots (by Grade)

Time	Grade
11:00 – 11:30am	Under 5 & Under 7
11:30 – 12:00pm	Under 9
12:00 – 12:30pm	Under 11
12:30 – 1:00pm	Under 13
1:00 – 1:30pm	Under 15/17 Girls & Under 15 Boys
1:30 – 2:30pm	Under 17/19 Boys
2:30 – 3:00pm	Seniors

These times are designed to help manage flow and reduce wait times.
If you have players in multiple grades, you can attend during any one of your allocated time slots — the key thing is that you collect your uniform on the day.
For example, if you’re an U7 player and can only come with the Seniors, that’s absolutely fine.

👕 What to Expect

Check in and receive your uniform chit.
Collect your playing top and pants (if required).
Visit the merchandise station to collect or purchase belts, socks, caps, and other ECB gear.
Hand in your chit to Philippa and Suzette, who will finalise your registration details.

💳 Reminder: Club fees are due before the first Saturday of play. Cash/QR code and EFTPOS will be available on-site, and you can also arrange a payment plan if needed.

❌ Can’t Attend? If you’re unable to make it, please email uniforms@ecbsoftball.org.nz to discuss alternative arrangements.
